Although I'm now graduated, married, and own my own house, I still call where I grew up, "home." I love to go home and forget about all my worries! I love that I can go home and leave all the craziness of teaching school and owning my own business behind! I love being with my family and I love remembering how things used to be so much simpler! When I go home I don't have the internet to distract me and I do my best to ignore my cell phone. When I'm at home there are no students complaining and no photos that I know in the back of my mind need to be edited. For some reason, "home" makes me forget all of those things!
The last two weeks I've been able to go home for part of the weekend and spend a day with my family. My husband is my high school sweetheart and it is really nice that we're from the same hometown. Last week we went home to celebrate Mother's Day. We first spent the afternoon having a picnic with my husband's family. When that was over with, we went out to the farm where I grew up and went mushroom hunting before my family went out for supper.
We had dinner at a restaurant along the Mississippi and my sister's kids couldn't wait to get outside to throw rocks into the water. I snagged a few quick pics!
Daniel loves Uncle Eric!
What a little dare devil! Caroline would jump right off the dock if we let her! She could care less if anyone is watching her, if she gets dirty, or if she falls and gets hurt...
Daniel is my Godson and I have to say - he's pretty stinkin cute too! This kid should be a model! He will do anything I ask and oftentimes comes up with his own ideas for photos too!
This one's my favorite!!! I might have to switch my bathroom photo of Daniel to this one!
This is my husband and I doing what we, I mean I, do best - eat ice cream!
I only have 11 more days of school left and then I can go home for visits whenever I feel like! I can't wait for SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just looking at your blog tonight and ran into this! Next time I'm in our hometown I might just give you a buzz and see if you happen to be on one of your day trips there! I'd love to see you! I love the picture of you and Brandon eating ice cream! So good to see you both looking delightfully happy :) Hope you're enjoying the summer! And we really do need to schedule a time for you to snag some pics of my boys--I was thinking about October since it's right between their birthdays and who can resist the beautiful colors of fall???
