Anytime: Kailee: Night Shoot!

I got a new lens that I have been so pumped to try out, so I called up my friend Kailee to see if she was up for a shoot. She agreed. Since I purchased the 50mm 1.2 L USM, which is supposed to be a great low light lens, we decided on a night shoot. I brought along my video light to experiment with as well.

I'm kind of a nerd, but I decided on the 50mm 1.2 L USM lens because a couple of my favorite photographers have it. I figure if it is good enough for Jasmine Star and Scarlett Lillian (who I was oh-so-lucky enough to shoot with in Vegas!), then it is probably good enough for me! :) Why not follow in the footsteps of those I admire?

Turns out I loooove the lens. The colors are much more vivid and I can get that selective focus I have been dying to have for so long! I am excited to post some images from a wedding we shot on Saturday where I really put the selective focus into work!

I can't wait to go out and shoot again at night! It was fun and a challenge to be creative with the light. I loved it!

But for now, check out Kailee's night shoot!

God bless and take care!

We began the shoot in a parking garage. I liked the bright orange elevator doors!

And inside the elevator...this was really funny because one of the walls of the elevators is just a window and we were on the main floor, so a bunch of college guys stopped to wolf whistle and watch Kailee workin' it. It was hard for her to keep a straight face!

And on top of the parking garage...

Then we did a little walking downtown in search of night lights!

This one is probably my favorite image from the shoot!

and we stopped by a cool looking door to end!

Thanks for your help and patience while I tried out my new equiptment, Kailee! It was a fun time! :)
